About the event
The event will start at 11:00 AM with a brief training by the DEP, then the Public Advocate and DEP commissioner making brief remarks at 11:30 AM. Community leaders will also speak. After this, we hit the streets for the cleanup!
The volunteers work will focus on planting and fixing up rain gardens at nearby catch basins. Volunteers can also break out into trash pick-up routes and care for other rain gardens and catch basins on other blocks. The duration of this work would take no more than two hours to complete.
DEP will be providing the tools needed for this event (planting tools, gloves, safety vests, grabbers.) Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes for this activity.
The meetup location is on Seabury Street (corner of Grand Ave), the closest address is 86-37 53rd Ave, Elmhurst NY 11373.
